When was the Las Vegas Wire party?

Time for another “phone a fan” request.

The online U2 fan community flocked to Las Vegas in April 1997 for the opening night of the PopMart Tour. It was during this trip that I met some people who would become lifelong friends, not to mention essential members of the @U2 crew — Sherry Colombaro, Answer Guy, and Dan Eliot, among them.

There was a big “Wire party” in Vegas, organized by fans from the Wire mailing list. I know it happened at the Hard Rock Cafe (pictured above), but I don’t remember when.

Was it the night before the Vegas concert? Was it two nights before? Other?
